Educativa (Vanal TEN 10), the first edition of the "RENEWABLE
ENERGY: SOLUTION FOR HONDURAS. This program starts the campaign
to promote renewable energy, developed in conjunction with
Channel TEN 10, AHPPER, GVEP International and EnDev.
This program consisted of four segments of 12min and they were
made in three different projects of members of the AHPPER.
Which were:
Project biomass energy cogeneration, based on sugar cane
bagasse, located in Cantarranas, Francisco Morazán. (Compañía
Azucarera Tres Valles S. A. de C.V.) with a capacity of 12 MW.

Grande, Francisco Morazán. (SOLARIS S.A de C.V) With a
capacity of 300W (Daily).
Wind Energy Project Honduras 2000, communities of Santa
Ana and San Buenaventura, Francisco Morazán. (Wind Energy
Honduras SA) of 100 MW.
On Sunday 16 August was sent the second part of this program,
presenting a small hydropower plant of 13.5 MW, which uses the
waters of the Intibucá to generate electricity using a cascade
system, three plants in a same river, which is located 4 kms.

Integration (BCIE) through Project Accelerating Renewable Energy
Investment in Central America and Panama (ARECA) and the United
Nations Development Program ( UNDP), have formed a strategic
alliance with the goal of completing training sessions on the
issue of Renewable Energy in various parts of the country. This
has provided informative lectures at whose objectives are:
1. To promote all technologies from hydro, solar, biomass, wind
and geothermal by geographic area as appropriate.
2. Report all the facts and research positive direct input from
a project involving social, economic and environmental impacts
in both the EU level, country level.

Comprehensive training on Watershed Management. Costa Rica, C.A
In
order to form criteria among stakeholders, government and
private enterprise in Honduras, to the acceleration of the
concessions through proposals that would effectively promote the
development of hydropower projects through:
1. Monitoring compliance with the commitments made between the
parties.
2. Implementation of new models and techniques that result in
full elements conducive to the sustainable use of water
resources.
Currently, both government and private enterprise have a policy
on promotion of hydroelectric projects, however inconsistent
legislation and procedures that hinder their progress.
AHPPER in finding a solution to the approval of 9 projects
located in the Pico Bonito National Park, a national reserve
area with a potential of 37 MW, which are not approved for lack
of knowledge of some of the techniques for handling units
integrated watershed and mini-hydroelectric plants to water edge.
There were a series of meetings with agencies involved with the
conservation of watersheds in Costa Rica., Between the
governmental institutions, NGOs and private companies.
The intention is that the knowledge and experience can be
implemented in Honduras specifically for hydroelectric projects,
so it is necessary to transfer these actors (ICF, SERNA, ENEE,
Special Prosecutor for the Environment and investors) on the
management of these funds and its investment policy for
environmental care.

2009".
As part of "Energy Expo 2009", was attended by the Honduran
Association of Small Producers of Renewable Energies (AHPPER),
represented by Eng Elsia Peace as a lecturer in the program,
with the theme "Hydroelectric Projects in Honduras and Central
America, "making a full presentation on hydroelectric projects
operated by the partnership while the barriers to its
implementation at the various institutions.
The event was held at the Expo Center San Pedro Sula from 24 to
28 February 2009, being the third edition of "Energy Expo 2009".
Honduras was a stage for the encounter between European and
Latin American entrepreneurs, involved about 30 renewable energy
companies in the European Union, including Spain, France, Italy,
Austria, Finland and Belgium.
Given that European entrepreneurs have increased their interest
in investing in Latin America and Honduras is an option to
promote and develop small and medium plants.
Financial organizations like the World Bank (WB), the Inter-American
Development Bank (IDB) and the Central American Bank for
Economic Integration (BCIE) have offered to support all those
power projects environmentally friendly.
